This 4 year project aims to eliminate prejudices, expand policy dialogue and influence behavioral changes on a wide range of youth-related issues (gender equality, child labour, street children, disabilities, drug use, HIV/AIDS and others). At a national level the project produces TV spots and radio programmes while at a local level United Nations Volunteers and Associates work with selected NGOs, promoting young people's rights by the use of arts and creative methods. The project targets a variety of groups including children, young adults, parents, teachers, religious leaders, community leaders, schools, doctors, health care professionals and policymakers.

The TV campaigns are accompanied by a series of community initiatives aiming to mobilize young people towards contributing to the Think Twice goals of raising awareness about children’s rights and using the arts as a force for social change.

More specifically the community initiatives aim to:

  • Extend the reach and impact of the Think Twice project by targeting members of communities where children’s rights are being violated.
  • Empower children with the skills necessary to represent their own causes and assist existing National Council for Childhood and Motherhood services
  • Provide communities with access to the Think Twice project, developing effective media messages and measuring the impact of these messages on the community.
