Eight feluccas will be sailing down the Nile, stopping in 8 towns from the 26^th of October (United Nations Day celebrations in Aswan) to the 8^th of December (UN Volunteer Day in Cairo). Each felucca will represent one of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and have the corresponding “arabised” MDG symbol on the sail.

The feluccas aim to raise awareness of successful development projects involving volunteers and inspire local communities of the Nile Basin to start their own projects to realize the MDGs. In addition, various cultural and sporting activities will take place in each chosen stop point and tangible benefits will be left at the service of the local population.
