How to volunteer For tens of millions of people around the world, volunteering is an expression of support for a principle that embodies the ethos of the United Nations: that by working together, we can make the world a better place for everyone. Volunteering empowers individuals, builds solidarity, encourages participation and protects the vulnerable against economic, social and political marginalization
Volunteering with UNV and with other organizations UNV volunteers mobilize local volunteer efforts and facilitate networking in their home countries acting as intermediaries between local communities and international organizations. UNV volunteers recruited nationally have at least three years of professional experience. They offer expertise in administration, agriculture, communication, community development, commerce, education, engineering, environment, health, information communication technology and social sciences. Assignments usually last 24 months but there are an increasing number of assignments lasting 6 to 12 months. You may be interested in applying to be included in our database of candidates. This allows us to quickly respond to requests for volunteers. 1. To become a National UNV volunteer, please check vacancies and submit your CV to recruitment. 2. To become an International UNV volunteer, check the UNV global website for vacancies or download the International application pack. Volunteers from around the world can help organizations that serve communities in developing countries -- without leaving their own communities. These online volunteers translate documents, write articles, research data, build websites, mentor young people, design logos, and engage in many other projects to benefit organizations serving people in the developing world. Online volunteers are volunteers without frontiers. To learn more go to UNV's Online Volunteering service website. Once a position opens up those candidates who are short-listed will be contacted for an interview. Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer. We hope that you have found our site useful in learning about UNV Egypt. |
